INSTALLATION
The SolarBeam Concentrator’s installation as a solar hot water system is very simple. It takes only 2 days to from the time of excavation to the complete installation and calibration of one SolarBeam. The Solar Concentrator is installed facing South and needs to be installed 6 meters (20 feet) away from any obstacles, such as trees or buildings. The installation is a 4 step process.
- Step 1: Dig trench & install heat-transfer pipe
- Step 2: Assemble SolarBeam kit
- Step 3: Connect heat exchanger to heating system
- Step 4: Calibrate SolarBeam
The insulated heat transfer piping system runs to the heat exchangers, which have their secondary loops connected to the heat/cooling system(s) for hot water or air conditioning applications. In order to prevent freezing, a food-grade antifreeze called poly-glycol is used in the SolarBeam.
