How much does a SolarBeam Concentrator cost?

SolarBeam has the shortest payback with less than 6 years and that’s not counting any government rebates! Compare that to 15-20 years of other solar energy systems. The cost of a SolarBeam system is approximately $20,500 US to $22,000 US depending on options and location.

How long does it take to setup a SolarBeam Concentrator System?

The installation of the SolarBeam is very easy. An 8 foot (2.4 m) post is installed into the ground, the drum is put on top of the post. The reflective petals are then installed along with the focal point. From the time the SolarBeam kit arrives, its a 2-3 day installation.

What is the lead time for a SolarBeam Concentrator?

Delivery time is 4-6 weeks. Please send us an email through the “Contact Us” page if you are interested in purchasing the SolarBeam. In the future, you will contact distributors in your area and they will order SolarBeam for you. The distributors will have certified installers who will install the system and provide training. They will also take care of any warranty issues and repairs.

How long does it take for the water temperature to rise to 90 degrees (194F)?

Since the SolarBeam uses a patent-pending tracking system, it can follow the sun throughout the whole day. So, it will take 3 hours to heat to a 228 liter hot water tank from 12 degrees to 90 degrees.

Is there a down payment for the SolarBeam?

Yes there is a down payment when you order the SolarBeam. Once we have evaluated the number of SolarBeam’s required for your application. A down payment of 30% is required, before the SolarBeam is built. Full payment is needed when the SolarBeam is shipped to your location. You can make payment to SolarTron Energy Systems. At this time, only a cheque or cash will be accepted.

Is the SolarBeam dangerous?

The SolarBeam does not use glass or any toxic materials. It is placed on a 8 foot (2.4 m) tall post and is not within reach of people or animals. If you would like to service the SolarBeam, just click the “off” button in the control panel, and the SolarBeam will go to sleep mode.

How Big is the SolarBeam?

The SolarBeam is placed on an 8 foot (2.4 m) tall post and the reflective dish is 15 feet wide  (4.5 m)

How much does the SolarBeam Concentrator weigh?

With the post and the reflective petals, the SolarBeam weighs approximately 500 pounds. When the SolarBeam is installed on roof tops, it will weigh 25% less.

What is the warranty?

The warranty for the SolarBeam is very good. The warranty for the structure is 10 years, the reflective surface is 10 years and the drive train is 3 years. Additional warranty can be purchased for $300 per year.

Who installs the SolarBeam Concentrator?

Certified installers who have been trained by SolarTron are only allowed to install the SolarBeam. If you are an installer who would like to be certified, please contact us for training details.

Do you sell directly to end-users?

The SolarBeam will only be sold through distributors in your local area. These distributors will install the SolarBeam and will be responsible for repairs and warranty issues

Does the SolarBeam have an electrical safety certification?

Yes it does. The SolarBeam has URTL/CSA equivalant certification.

What kind of site is needed for the SolarBeam Concentrator?

Ideally the SolarBeam should be installed 20 feet (6 meters) from the building or house. It should be installed facing south and should not have any trees that will cause shade on the SolarBeam.

How much money can I save?

If the area where you live has 7 hours of sunshine a day, the SolarBeam will produce 10kW of solar energy per hour (peak is 13kW). 7 hours of sunshine a day x 365 days, that amounts to 70 kW per day of free energy.
